The crash took place in Putnam County around 630 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, on Route 9 in Garrison and included several vehicles and a box truck, according to multiple sources.

Putnam County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene and closed the road for an investigation but could not provide additional details.

Officials with the Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps said the first units on the scene made a quick initial assessment and determined that there were six total patients and that additional resources were needed.

At least one patient was airlifted to an area hospital, officials said. Five others were taken by ambulance.
